JOB DESCRIPTION
The Director – Cybersecurity role will lead the day-to-day execution of Digital Factory’s cybersecurity strategy and roadmap, translating security priorities into practical, scalable capabilities that protect the organization as it grows. The role is responsible for advancing cybersecurity initiatives across identity and access management, vulnerability and configuration management, cloud, SaaS, application and infrastructure security, security monitoring, incident response, and risk remediation. This leader will also play a key role in supporting SOC 2 readiness, implementing appropriate security controls, and establishing the processes, metrics, and reporting needed to strengthen cybersecurity operations and provide visibility into risk. Working cross-functionally with Engineering, IT, People & Culture, Legal, and other business functions, this role will help embed security into how the organization operates and scales. The position will also supervise and develop cybersecurity resources and help determine the capabilities, structure, and talent needed to build a mature cybersecurity function over time. THIS POSITION WILL ENTAIL:

What You’ll Do

  • Driving execution of the cybersecurity strategy and roadmap
  • Leading day-to-day cybersecurity initiatives and remediation
  • Identity and access management, MFA, privileged access, and access reviews
  • Vulnerability and security configuration management
  • Cloud, SaaS, application, and infrastructure security
  • Security monitoring and incident-response capabilities
  • Security assessments, risk identification, and remediation tracking
  • Supporting SOC 2 readiness and implementation of security controls
  • Establishing cybersecurity processes, metrics, and operational reporting
  • Partnering across Engineering, IT, People & Culture, Legal and other business functions
  • Supervising and developing cybersecurity resources
  • Helping determine and build the cybersecurity team and capabilities needed as the organization grows
DESIRED SKILLS QUALIFICATIONS:

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Information Security, Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent relevant professional experience.
  • 8+ years of progressive experience in cybersecurity, information security, or related technology/security roles, including 3+ years leading cybersecurity initiatives, programs, or teams.                   
  • Demonstrated ability to operate as a hands-on cybersecurity leader, combining strategic leadership with direct technical and operational execution.
  • Strong experience with identity and access management, MFA, privileged access, least-privilege principles and access governance.
  • Experience with vulnerability management, security configuration and hardening, remediation, and security assessments.
  • Working knowledge of cloud, SaaS, application, infrastructure, and endpoint security practices.
  • Experience establishing or improving security monitoring, incident response, and security operations processes.
  • Experience implementing and assessing security controls and supporting compliance or assurance programs such as SOC 2.
  • Ability to assess cybersecurity risk, prioritize remediation, and translate technical findings into actionable business recommendations.
  • Experience developing cybersecurity policies, standards, procedures, metrics, and operational reporting.
  • Strong understanding of security architecture and the ability to partner effectively with engineering and technology teams on secure design and implementation.
  • Demonstrated ability to build cybersecurity capabilities, mentor developing security professionals and help shape a growing security organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate technical security issues, risks, and recommendations to both technical and executive audiences.
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-moving environment where security processes and capabilities are still being established.

 

Preferred Qualifications

  • Relevant security certifications such as CISSP, CISM, CCSP, Security+, or equivalent.
  • Experience working in startup, early-stage, or rapidly scaling technology environments.
  • Experience with Google Workspace security and administration.
  • Experience participating in or leading SOC 2 readiness, audits, or control implementation.

Compensation

This opportunity is offered on an equity-only basis as we continue to scale. There is no salary or hourly compensation at this time.
